Customer Service Officer

We are looking for a full-time customer service officer to join our close-knit team. The successful applicant will need to learn quickly, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work independently and as a member of a team.

We have been in the consumer electronics industry for over 85 years and have an established reputation and loyal customer base. We pride ourselves on our service, level of knowledge and customer care. While experience in a similar role is an advantage, we welcome any applicant that can demonstrate a great work ethic and attitude.


The Role

As we carry a vast range of products, customer enquiries do touch on a diverse range of product categories and types, therefore it would be beneficial if you had some consumer electronics background. Candidates with prior experience in this industry will be given priority.

To begin with, you may be asked to start off in a warehouse position so you are familiar with systems and processes. From there, once you successfully gain the necessary experience, you will then progress to the (inbound) customer service role (or potentially a customer-facing showroom sales position) for hands-on experience.

Your day-to-day will involve;

  • Assisting customers with sales. This includes recommending and demonstrating certain products, producing quotes for trade customers and converting sales
  • Taking phone calls and generating sales from online enquiries
  • Answering customer enquiries on various platforms (Zendesk, Social Media etc)
  • Providing ongoing support and problem-solving for customers
  • Working closely with warehouse, purchasing, phone sales, accounts and advertising departments
  • Building relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Assisting other departments of the business where required

 

The successful applicant should be able to display the following;

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar sales position
  • Excellent communication skills particularly phone skills
  • A strong, self-driven work ethic
  • The ability to learn very quickly
  • The capability to build valuable relationships with customers
  • Experience with ERP systems in particular with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will score favourably

Salary

This is a full-time Monday to Friday position, 40 hours per week with one Rostered Day Off (RDO) per month.

Starting salary package will be determined based on experience. However, expect around $50K base, plus current rate of superannuation guarantee (10.5% as of July 1 2022).

If offered the role, the successful candidate will enter a 6-month probationary period after which your salary will be reviewed.

During the probationary period, performance will be monitored on a regular basis. A police check is a requirement if the position is offered.
