5 out of 5 stars

The Richter Wake digital alarm clock (RR40BLK) exceeds my expectations. I happened to find this item on the Radio Parts website after a number of futile internet searches for clock radios. Thank you Radio Parts for the excellent service and speedy delivery. I love the retro design, and the rotary dial is incredibly satisfying to use. The buttons are likewise nice to the touch. One of my key requirements was the ability to dial down the display brightness, and the backlight settings do not disappoint! The instruction manual isn't perfect but the device itself is well designed and within minutes I'd set everything up, including two weekday alarms, radio presets, backlight, and even the sound equaliser. The sound is impressively good for compact clock radio. I confirmed for myself that the device remembers your settings in the event of power loss—without a backup battery. The Richer Wake also offers Bluetooth and a 3.5mm aux input to play audio from other sources, including NFC for ease of pairing with NFC-enabled devices. I highly recommend this clock radio to anyone looking for an upgrade, or to retire the smart phone from service as the morning alarm.
